Big Sur is still Catalina, but slower

Notes:

• Delete Adobe Flash. It is no longer used. Instructions: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html.
• Runaway Process. This may go away with a restart. You can see processes in Activity Monitor (Finder > Go > Utilities)
• No Time Machine backup. You NEED a Time Machine backup.

Let's do the following:

• PRAM Reset: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
• First Aid: How to repair a Mac disk with Disk Utility - Apple Support
• Safe Mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support (Login to Safe Mode, then restart into Normal Mode)

Then, install macOS Big Sur. Use this link, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-big-sur/id1526878132?mt=12, get Big Sur, then run the installer.

Let's proceed with an EtreCheck report first. This will mainly help address the slow speeds. EtreCheck is a useful app to diagnose issues, both hardware and software. It is trusted by many users. Please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Go to the Mac App Store and search for "EtreCheck."
2. Download it. It is a free and trusted app; as it is on the Mac App Store, and only trusted apps can be submitted.
3. Run the report, and put it in a post, as seen here - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-250000211. We will then examine the report for issues in your Mac.
4. Open EtreCheck, then go to the name "EtreCheck" in the top left corner > "Preferences" > "Privacy" > turn on "Allow Full Access to Startup Drive."
