Can I pair AirPods with only one in case? I stepped on the other one outside now it’s broke

If your AirPods are currently paired with your device, you may be able to continue using just one AirPod. If that is not the case, both would be required to pair successfully. You can see how to get a replacement AirPod if needed here: AirPods Service and Repair

Hi Ericka_2020, 


To be able to set up or pair AirPods with a device, both would be required. If you have a replacement case, you would need both AirPods to set up the case successfully. You can see more about that here: Set up your replacement AirPods or charging case


If your one remaining AirPod is unpaired with your iPhone, you would need both to be able to pair again. See more about that here: Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro
