Apps taking too much storage
I recently got an iPhone 12 and I noticed the storage on my phone is not aligning with the breakdowns given underneath. It says that apps are taking up close to 40GB of storage on my phone, but 1. I don't keep a ton of apps downloaded to begin with, and 2. the most any is registering in the breakdown is 550.6MB
I already tried deleting and reinstalling apps that keep large caches, like Youtube, and then went ahead and deleted all apps I had downloaded and reinstalled only the ones I regularly use, and then when that still did not work, I reset the phone, but nothing is changing it.
Any ideas where this excess storage could be coming from and how to get rid of it? I would prefer to have that space available for other things on my phone, like photos and videos
