IMEI can not be found by ATT

I just purchased an iPhone 11 and the IMEI can not be found by ATT. How can I fix this? I was able to get all of my data from my old iPhone 6 transferred, without problem, to my iPhone 11. I just can't use the new phone to make calls/texts, etc. Any help or advice is appreciated!!

You do have an AT&T nano-SIM installed in the phone? If it was originally carrier locked, did you contact that carrier and go through the process of getting it officially unlocked for use with a new carrier?


Do you already have an AT&T service account or are you trying to set up new service with AT&T.

My apologies, I misunderstood your question. The new iPhone I purchased was LOCKED when I bought it. I was successful in setting it up with my Apple ID/icloud information including face recognition and in transferring all my data/photos/apps, etc. What I'm NOT successful at is setting it up for cell phone service to make calls, texts, etc. I can use the phone for everything else except making calls. I'm NOT successful in doing that because when I try to activate my new iPhone with my wireless provider (AT&T), I receive "IMEI not found". I don't know what I'm doing wrong:-(
