With increasing frequency when I try to resume a podcast I was listening to either from my airpods or the lock screen it won't work. When I squeeze my airpod nothing happens and when I wake the lock screen instead of showing the podcast I was listening to it shows a variety of podcasts on my phone and the play button is grayed out. This is driving me crazy, does anyone have a fix?

Yes, all my software is up to date and it doesn't seem like its an app crashing. It seems like a feature I don't understand or that isn't working correctly. Instead of just resuming what was already it seems like it's trying to do something else. I don't understand but it's happening all the time now.
Here is a screenshot of what's happening.
I only listen to downloaded podcasts, I don't stream. Restarting has not resolved the issue, I still encounter the issue screenshot about 1-2 times a day at least.
