Are you using "Messages in iCloud"? If so, when you delete a message anywhere, they are deleted everywhere (including iCloud).

If you are not using "Messages in iCloud", then the messages should be part of your iCloud or computer backup. You need to restore a backup that has those messages:
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
Be aware that restore is an all or nothing process. You cannot only restore messages (for example) and any data on your device between now and when the backup was created will be lost.
