Can't update GarageBand on Catalina even though AppStore says update is available

Can't update GarageBand on Catalina even though AppStore says update is available, pop up prompts 3 times to download, but doesn't download.

Download an older version of GarageBand?

The current version requires OS X 11.0 or later, but you can download the last compatible version.

If the update doesn't work on Catalina, why does it tell me that it's available?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

garageband for catalina I bought a MBP 2015 from an individual running Catalina. It has Garageband 6 on it which does not run. Where can I find the last Garageband version that will work? The App Store will only make the latest version available which will not run on Catalina. This update stuff is getting ridiculous.

GarageBand update not installing, Nov 13 2020 Running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 on 2017 27" iMac. Running GarageBand 10.3.5 AppStore is notifying me of GarageBand update. WHen I try to update, I get the following error message: "We could not complete your update." "GarageBand can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because macOS version 11 or later is required." To repeat, I am running macOS15, which is clearly "version 11 or later". Tried rebooting. No change. Ideas?

Garage Band update won't load I have a Garage Band update (10.4.1) pending but when I try to download it I'm told I need to have macOS version 11 or later, but I am running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Can someone please help me!
