Some apps on my Mini IPad 5 such as Venmo do not allow me to use in Landscape format...it is very annoying..any way to correct this

You need to be aware that not all Apps are coded to operate in both Portrait and Landscape screen modes. Apps that have a fixed screen orientation (usually Portrait) will always appear in the orientation determined by the App Developer.
There is no way of overriding the Developers App coding.
