Can I mute someone on messages without an open texting conversation history?

I know how to mute someone if I have an open text conversation history with them on the message app.

Is there a way to mute someone besides this? I accidentally deleted my texting history so I am wondering if there is an alternate way of muting someone's messages if I don't have any messages from them currently.
