Why doesn't the iTunes link on Shazam work anymore? Is this an ill-considered tactic on Apple's part to instead push users to Apple Music instead? If so, it fails to recognize the fact there are two customer groups - Buyer/Collectors and Renters. If you, like me, prefer owning your music the last thing you'll ever do is rent via Apple Music or Spotify.

In the last day or so, the official Apple document was updated to remove the reference to using Shazam to buy in iTunes: Use Shazam with Apple Music, Snapchat, and more - Apple Support There has been no official explanation.
Although the click-through option is gone, you can still buy downloads from the iTunes Store or other download stores such as Amazon. JunoDownlaod, ECassical, etc.
