I am not sure what were you trying to do? --> If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple ...

I am having the same issue with 12 Pro Max. Just stopped working last night. None of the steps work. Phone has never been dropped, repaired or opened up. Having to take to the Apple store in a week.
