When using Apple Music, Tidal or, Spotify, does ATV produce the CD, hi-fi or, lossless quality (FLAC, AAC, etc.)? I see everything is output as PCM 48khz or, Atmos/PCM. What I want to know is, if I use Tidal which offers up to 1411kbps FLAC will I get that via the app on ATV 4th?
All audio output from Apple TV box will be converted to uncompressed PCM 48 kHz*, no matter the input (mp3, wav, PCM, AAC, DD, DD+, FLAC, etc.). If the input is 1411 kbps, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz, stereo, then the output is 1411 kbps, 16 bit, 48 kHz, stereo.
(* Output will be (re-)compressed if manually set to Dolby Digital.)
