iphone 11 making random calls to contacts without me initiating anything

My iPhone 11 is making calls at random to people on my contact list. this is totally bizarre and unacceptable. Apples answers to this problem are to turn off voice control in accessibility settings.

Isn't this shouting down a function you need. this seems like a serious flaw in this phone. please explain or give a more constructive solution. i did see another solution is to do a total reset. I have already don a network re

set

jkm8033t,

Thanks for clarifying that for us. It sounds like you're seeing a green indicator in your iPhone status bar when the screen is locked or unlocked, you've turned off Voice Control, and you have a new screen protector. Let's continue working together to sort this out.

If you remove the screen protector, does that seem to help?

"A green indicator means either the camera or the camera and the microphone are being used by an app on your iPhone." Keeping that in mind, let's take a closer look at which apps have permission to use the camera and microphone. Let us know what you find. Learn more here:

Also, have you checked to be sure your iPhone is running the latest software version, iOS 14.4.1? You can go to Settings > General > About to check. Should you need it, this link provides details about how to update your iPhone:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care.

Hi there jkm8033t,

From what we can tell, your iPhone is making phone calls unexpectedly without being prompted. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance.

To start, does this happen when your iPhone is locked or unlocked? Learn more here:

Wake and unlock iPhone

Next, have you noticed any other actions being taken on your iPhone without being prompted? For example, are apps opening unexpectedly or are items on the screen being selected without you tapping them? If so, work through the steps in this support article:

If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad

Also, you mentioned turning off Voice Control as a suggested troubleshooting step; did you get a chance to test to see if that helped? Learn more about using Voice Control from this link:

Use Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the information we've provided doesn't seem to help, please post some additional details about the issue. For example, have you noticed any trends with this behavior? Does it tend to happen with your iPhone in a specific location? We'll take a closer look from there.

Cheers.

The green button is on in lock and unlock. I have shut off voice control and my screen protector is new and not cracked.

It cant be all these things causing this issue. Are my voice commands in Seri useless now? It seems like there should be a better solution say in a software update to correct a serious problem like this. I'm not impressed with the offered solutions.

there are no green indicators on my iPhone 11 in the status bar area. I assume you mean the area in the upper right hand corner where the wifi symbol is. I never said there was!. Its still doing things on its own. like Ill have it in my pocket and hear sri or an internet voice talking. my iphone always updates to the latest version. version 14.4.1. your solutions or troubleshooting suggestions are out of touch in my opinion. I'm sure this problem is accruing in other phones. No disrespect but I need some serious conversation about what is going on here. shutting a bunch of features down in order to eliminate the problem is rendering your iphone less that fully functional.
