My keyboard light is not working is it because my camera is also not working?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

my keyboard light turns off when i look away My backlighting for my keyboard turns off and on but not randomly. Whenever I look away from the screen it turns off, and instantly turns on when I look back at it. If i cover my camera then this does not happen, the light just stays on like usual. Is something going on? Or am I being paranoid?

Try resetting the SMC How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Also restart holding Shift to enter Safe Mode. Once loaded, restart normally and check if comes back.
