Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 Update Combo

What was represented as Mountain Lion software when I was buying not sure what I have now. I bought this from Apple did the download from the App Store . Burned it to a dvd from my iMac running Catalina no problem. I need this to install on a 2012 Mac Book Pro 13” non Retina .

Doing internet recovery with a new hard drive I can load and verify the disk and see it and it’s all green. How do I open it to get to the installer ? I cannot open this software with Catalina to see what’s inside, how do I see what’s inside .?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

This Mid 2012 iMac can run up to High Sierra.

I'd advise you to run this as it is a much more modern OS.

What you downloaded is and update, not the full installer actually.
