Volume bug goes all the way up or down when locking

When adjusting the volume on my iPhone 12 Mini and immediately locking the screen, the volume either goes up all the way or down depending on which volume button I was pressing before locking my phone. I somehow can’t always reproduce this bug, but it occurs VERY often. Mostly when I adjust and lock the screen in short succession.

It does it both with AirPods/ any type of headphone and over the speakers, so it must be the iPhone doing something weird.

My case is also clean and free of any defects around the volume buttons area. I also tried this without any case on.

After playing around with this for a bit, when I click one of the buttons multiple times and lock the phone the bug happens. Mind you, the button presses are less than what would be needed to turn the volume all the way up or down. It seemingly ‘jumps’ to max or minimum.

I hope to have provided enough information.

I can’t edit the original post so I’ll write what I found out here:

Lock the screen and immediately press and hold either the volume up or down button for a short time (less than a sec). This is not normal behavior. The volume shouldn’t continue to rise or fall after letting go of either buttons.

By the way, I also turned off the Double-Click side button to turn on Apple Pay, if that makes a difference.
