Why can't my child's account see my purchases in Apple TV or iTunes

Hello,

Today, my child (a member of my family account) has been unable to watch tv shows that we have previously purchased. Both I and my wife can see all the programmes in our libraries.


Apple TV gets stuck on a 'loading' page when trying to access the library.


I have just tried to access it through iTunes, and ended up having to pay for one of the TV Shows again.


Does anyone have any ideas about how to resolve this?


I'm feeling grumpy about it. I'm finding Apple increasingly difficult to use and share ... does anyone else feel the same?

Greetings Mike! There are a couple things that could be restricting your child from accessing purchased content. Let’s see if we can figure it out.


First check to make sure purchases are shared with them. Settings>(your name)>Family Sharing> and make sure “Purchase Sharing” has been turned on for all family members.


Next review any restrictions that have been put on your child’s account... Settings>Screen Time> and tap on your child’s name under the Family members list. Sometimes the rating of a particular title could cause limited access. Checking this setting on the Apple TV itself is also recommended.
