How to enable assistance touch after restore, home button doesn’t work

I had to restore my iPhone 6s and the home button doesn’t work. How can I get to settings to activate assistive touch when the home button doesn’t work, and Siri is not set up?

I understand the typical pathway, but the home button is broken, therefore I cannot get to settings. Is there another solution?

If your issue is getting to unlock your iPhone or getting to the home screen whilst home button is not working, here's a few remedial steps you can try:

  1. Swipe right to Camera or open Camera from Control Centre, click the image viewer beside the shutter button, supposed iPhone will say "No Photos or Videos". Click "All Photos" at the top of your screen. iPhone will ask for Touch ID or you can enter your passcode without using home button.
  2. Swipe left to your lock screen Widgets. If you have a bunch of Widgets, scroll down to the bottom of the list until you see "Edit" button. Click it and you'll be able to enter your passcode and unlock your iPhone without using home button.
  3. On your lock screen, swipe up to open Control Centre. Long press Music player. Click the small square with Apple Music logo. iPhone will also prompt you to enter passcode without using home button.

Once you've successfully unlocked your iPhone, you can now go ahead and enable AssistiveTouch from your Settings. I hope these few methods I provided can help you out.

Hi! We understand your concern and we'd be glad to help! Here are the steps you can do to enable AsssistiveTouch if you're having trouble using physical buttons on your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. General
  3. Accessibility
  4. Scroll down until you see AssistiveTouch
  5. Enable it on the next screen. A dark grey square button should appear on any side of your screen.

You can customise which controls will appear once you open AssistiveTouch by tapping Customise Top Level Menu...

You can also assign specific actions when you either long-press or double-tap the AssistiveTouch button.

I hope this answers your question. Have a great day!
