can’t get out of recovery mode

My macbook pro has started being slow so someone told me to reset it. I went to recovery mode and tried to reinstall mac os. I can’t select my hard disk because it is locked. I can’t get out of recovery mode when I restart and select my hard disk because it is locked. What can I do?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

Hi jolie180

You can exit recovery mode by choosing "restart"from the Apple Menu.

If that doesn't work for you for some reason:

There's another discussion thread with details:

If still no success:

You can power down by holding the power button on.

Cheers
