Why are some contacts not syncing, but others are?

I just recently bought a MacBook Pro, and have it synced to my iPhone 11. Text messages come THROUGH on my MacBook, but while some come through with the name of the contact, others are coming through only as the phone number - even though I have them as a contact on my phone.

If I go into Contacts, MOST of them are there, but not all.

Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

All Needs to Resync, Maybe?:

A. iCloud Sign in/Sign Out:

In both devices, Sign out of iCloud and then sign back in. Be certain to enable Contacts.

B. Perform Restarts:

Having signing back into iCloud on your devices, restart your Mac, and restart you iPhone.

Restarting the iPhone:

Try Manually Restarting your iPhone:

  1. Go To: Settings
  2. Select: General
  3. Scroll to: the Very Bottom
  4. Select: Shut Down
  5. Slide Finger: to the Right
  6. Wait: 30 Seconds
  7. Power One: the iPhone
  8. Try this Once More

Two More Thoguhts:

A. Try this Link: If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t Sync - Apple Support. Use: iOS 12

B. Try a Restore:

Enable Contacts in iCloud:

Set up and enable Contacts in the iCloud settings on your iPhone.  Go Here: Set Up and Use iCloud Contacts - Apple Support. If you have another device associated to this account, then enable Contacts in iCloud on that device too. All should presumably sync.

Restore from a Backup:

Do you have a backup of your iPhone, prior to all of this? If so, restore your iPhonefrom it.

Messaging a Service:

Yes, is should sync, but only when it is next to your iPhone. Messaging is a service provided by your cellular carrier. So, contact your cellular carrier. Mine only sync when I enable Bluetooth on my Mac and on my iPhone, and they sync with one another. Once synced, all is the same.

Re-Sync it All:

I think what you need to do is (on your iPhone and Mac) deselect everything in iCloud settings, restart the device, and then select everything iCloud setting would sync anew.

Ok so this is still a problem, and I've tried everything. I signed out of and back into my iCloud on both devices - that didn't fix it. I turned Contacts off and back on again and selected "Merge" on my phone when I did it, that didn't fix it.

And along with certain contacts not being synched with my Mac, there are some messages that I've deleted off my phone, but still show on my Mac as well. If it's set up on the Cloud, shouldn't it delete off of both devices when I delete it from one?

Still super-confused about the lack of synchronization, as I've tried everything in this thread so far.
