Reporting sexting messages

Lately I am getting lot of sexting texts. I have looked up things here, but the report junk option is not there, nor is the forward button. I know how to block or delete them, but I want them to stop coming to me and report them. Additionally, as I was trying to delete one, I accidentally opened it and almost immediately received 2 more! Please help me make this stop as my children are also receiving them on their phones!

If these are coming in as SMS texts, forward them to your carrier’s spam number so they can block them from their network for you. For example, with AT&T I would forward such texts to short code 7726 (SPAM). They will send me an automatic reply to include the number or short code the message came from, and shortly after that, the spam stops coming in. They’ve been very good at stopping it reasonably quickly after I report it.

Hello darcille19! Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you're getting unwanted spam SMS text messages, and these are also going to your children. We'd like to look into this with you to see how we can help.

Since "Report Junk" is missing from these messages, it sounds like you're receiving these messages by either SMS or MMS messages, which would be indicated by the green text bubble or send button in your Messages app when viewing the message. These types of messages can only be reported through contacting your carrier, as seen here: Block, filter, and report messages on iPhone

When these type of messages come through, it's important not to interact with the links, as they can sometimes be phishing attempts. And interacting with the link can trigger additional messages from the sender.

The following article can also be helpful in being aware of other methods phishing attempts and scammers can employ: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams

Make it a great day!
