Is this why it takes forever to download photos from phone to iMac if they even download successfully. Not sure when this was made folder or why. Can I just make my user folder pictures folder photos folder?

spo too soon. Not really solved but helpful answer. Goes deeper though. It almost transfer all 32 gigs but then said
cant copy Photo Library because it has the same name as another item on the destination volume, and that volume can’t distinguish between upper and lower case letters in file names. This message also similar to reason I couldn’t transfer a backup to a certain backup disc couple years back. Screwed up not selecting proper format then. What to do??
My photo library is in an old user folder in a backup disc?!
