Turbo tax

TurboTax Premier cd disc from Cosco loaded into iMac 27" 5k opened and will start new return BUT does not populate any data from 2019 Turbotax did in previous years.

Turbotax support was unable to resolve the problem other than say it was common this year with both Apple and Microsoft.

I am running MacOS Big Sur updated last week.

Any suggestions, please.

Thanks.

I downloaded TT 2020 from Intuit's site and it picked up the personal data from the last years file.

Give this a try:

1 - boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

2 - launch TT 2020 and under the File menu select New Return.

3 - see if TT will pickup the personal data from you last year's TT file.

4 - reboot normally and check again.
