Hello Ks1309,
Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you're trying to share a contact card with someone via iMessage, but you're not seeing that option. We're happy to help out with this.
You'll want to open the Contacts app, and share the contact from there. Our Apple Support page has the full details to assist: Add and use contact information on iPhone
We hope this helps directly answer your question.
Cheers!
Hello Ks1309,
We can understand wanting to complete these steps without having to add the contact to your phone.
The best way is still to use the steps we provided. Once you tap share from the Contacts app, you can select iMessage, then type in the number that you want to share to.
This way you can still share the one contact but not have to add the other contact in your iPhone.
We also welcome your feedback for other ways to share contacts on our Apple Feedback page: Feedback - Messages for iOS and iPadOS
Cheers!
Thank you Jeff. I know how to share from Contacts app. I need to respond to an iMessage directly without having to go into another app (Since the iMessage is from someone who is not in my contact and i dont want to add their contact to my phone). Just want to send them the information via a contact card. How do I do this?
Please tell me there is a way out!
But when I select iMessage, it doesn't let me respond to an existing text, but wants me select an existing contact (and this message is from someone who is not in my contacts). And thats what is frustrating. Why cant imessage let me respnd and add the contact card?
