bluetooth setup assistant
My Mac Book Air OS10.14.6 Mojave can't find a Bluetooth device.
But my iPhone OS 14.4 can find it.
I've done a Reset Shft-Opt-Bluetooth on the Mac
How can I force the BlueTooth Setup Asst?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Hello HaslettJ,
Thanks for getting back with us. You mentioned the speaker is compatible with iOS however, macOS would fall in a different category. Looking over the Sony Help Guide: Connecting with a computer via a BLUETOOTH connection (Mac), it states the speaker is compatible with MacOS High Sierra 10.13. Have you confirmed with Sony that the firmware for the speaker now supports more recent macOS versions?
Also, have you checked to see if there are any firmware updates available for the speaker?
Thank you.
Hello HaslettJ,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with a Bluetooth device and your MacBook. What Bluetooth device are you attempting to connect to your MacBook? Have you confirmed its compatibility with your MacBook and macOS? If so, have you previously connected this device to your MacBook or a different Mac?
Once we have a bit more information, it will help direct us to the best options to assist.
Best regards.
Thanks for that. Good point
It's Sony SRS-XB12. I understand it needs Advanced Audio Distribution Profile: A2DP.
And I find online
"Advanced Audio Distribution Profile: A2DP, also known as Stereo Bluetooth, lets iOS devices send wireless audio to compatible headphones and speakers. It is supported by all iOS devices except the original iPhone.8 Feb 2021"
But I also find that I'm not the only one who has raised related questions
The MacBook is MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
Thanks very much for this advice
