Why is my mac trying to install my ios/iPadOS apps on Big Sur?

I keep getting notifications on Big Sur:

"UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD APP" "some ios app name" could not be installed. Please try again later.

I have the same Apple ID on my Macbook as on my iPad, but my Macbook Pro is a 2018 model, so it cannot run iPadOs (ios) apps. So why does it, in vane, keep trying to install my ios apps on my Macbook?

I can dismiss the notifications, but they keep coming back.
