Three Thoughts to Note:
A. Corrupt Installer:
The installation file is corrupt. So, redownload it.
B. Redownload it:
If a redownload is of no success, try using another computer:
C. Contact the Developer:
As a last resort, contact the Developer, informing them of this corrupt file, requesting that they fix it, and that they provide you with the file that you need.

You are welcome.
Please Clarify:
What are you trying to re-insall? Is the the macOS itself?
There are Two Important Steps:
Backup then Reinstall
A. Backing Up the Mac: Start by creating a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Go Here: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support. If you have a backup, then restore form that.
B. Use Internet Recovery Mode:
Go Here: About macOS Recovery - Apple Support. It will boot off of Apple’s servers.
Hold Down one of these, while you hear the boot up chime:
— [Option + Command + R]
— [Shift + Option + Command + R]
C. Use Ethernet:
For a more trustworthy install, use Ethernet, over WiFi. It would be hardwired into your modem/router.

The free MalwareBytes may take care of it...
https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/
Or...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…
Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...
<script src="https://pastebin.com/embed_js/KuvnghqA"></script>
The important part of the above is...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

Hi. I wasn't trying to install anything. I do have Acrobat and Epson on Auto Updates. This just started happening recently.
I did notice that some files had been installed in my applications folder which affected my Safari (it would shut it down). It seems someone was trying to access my system. I deleted all the files related and installed on the same date. I had to do that about 5 times on different days. I guess they figured I was on to them and they stopped. Now I check my applications folder several times a week to see if there is anything there I haven't installed.
Thank you for your quick response. I haven't been trying to download anything, if it is a corrupt Mac installer can you advise
how to acquire for re-installation? Thank you again.
