Buddy name

I would like to ask anyone to please help or advice . I got text msg notification text msg fails to send but I notice contact is listed As Buddy Name can I please ask anyone to explain or help me understand what buddy name exactly meaning and how can I find out the Contact phone for the buddy name . Thank you

Notifications/contacts query I have my number to someone that I met online. He messaged me in what's app. In what's app it just shows the number yet on my Home Screen the notification for the same messages have the person's name on them and not their number. The name is different to what he said it was and I'm worried it's a bit dodgy! Any ideas? And how is it showing a name on the notification when they are not in my contacts? Baffled!

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you have contacts in iCloud, you can also take a look at this.

View contacts on iCloud.com

This should help you locate the contact.
