I have done speed tests with my iPhone 12 Pro Max sitting next to my 2017 iMac and the Wi-Fi speeds are very different. 15-20mbps on the iPhone and 200-300mbps on the iMac. Why such a discrepancy?

Are you connected to the 2.6 GHz band or the 5 GHz on each device? 2.6 GHz is quite a bit slower, but has longer range.
What troubleshooting did you do. Did you verify that your iPhone and iPad are connecting to the 5 GHz network, and not the 2.6 GHz network, which is limited to about 30 mbps?
2.6 GHz is typically 35 mbps. 5 GHz is capable of up to 600 mbps.
Thanks for the reply I rebooted everything my airport extreme my modem my phone and my MacBook Pro still has speeds way higher then my phone, I see others have had a similar issue pretty sure I am on 2.6 here
Thanks again my Apple TV and MacBook speeds are around 200 my iPad and iPhone 12 Pro are around 30, sorry but Apple has issues since I see others with same problems
