If Photos are on the cloud,can I delete them from my phone to gain storage space

Not if you are using iCloud Photos. iCloud Photos is not archival storage. It is a syncing service. If you delete photos on your phone, you delete them in iCloud as well.


The photos and videos that you delete on one device are deleted everywhere that you use iCloud Photos. Photos and videos stay in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days before they're deleted permanently.
