Note: I just found out about the deepL translator. I have used it several times to translate my french homework. My computer is a MacBook Pro, I run using Safari and version 10.13.6

I just found out about the deepLtranslator.com I have used it several times to translate my French homework. I have a MacBook Pro. It uses MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 - I don't know how to get it installed onto my computer. Please help.

The deepL translator lives on a supercomputer on the web. Your PC or your Mac CAN'T run it.


What they offer in the link above is a bit of software (technically a daemon) -- this software stays in the background most of the time, then when you want it, you select an area of text and invoke the daemon with a keyboard shortcut. It picks up the selected text and sends it out to be translated, then whisks the translation back to you.


If you don't use it often, you can just keep using the web site translation feature you have been using.
