Why dose it seam that the iphone has no reason on how photos are stored

You will have to explain what you mean. Tap Library and "All Photos" are stored in the order they were taken. Or you can view them by the Months, Days and Years they were taken. Tap Albums and photos are in the albums you put them in. There are a few default albums, such as “Screen Shots”, Selfies, Videos, etc. So there is very sound “reason” to the way they are stored.


The same photo can be put in more than 1 album, but there is still only one copy of it. Photos that appear in albums are actually just “links” to the photo in All Photos.
