KIA Vehicle Apple car play keeps disconnecting

Hello,


I love using Apple car play especially for GPS but its keeps disconnecting very frequently especially when am doing a long distance drives and have to take EXITS, the car play would disconnect at most Inconvenient times, causing me to miss my EXITS on the road, and worse almost got in to a crash because I had to take my focus away for a moment to connect back in order to find out which EXIT I'm supposed to take. I would like to know when an software update going come out fixing this issue, I just hope people don't get in to car accidents because of this bug.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand how important it is to have your iPhone and CarPlay connected at all times. 


While this may seem like a basic step, the first place to start is restart your iPhone following these steps: Restart your iPhone. Restarting can resolve many unexpected performance issues.


After restarting, if the issue persists, you'll want to remove your vehicle from the CarPlay settings. This ensures that it will be setting up again as if they haven't been connected. Go to Settings > CarPlay > select your vehicle > tap on Forget This Car. 


Next, follow the steps under, "Set up CarPlay," from this article: Use CarPlay with your iPhone. Once you've completed those 3 steps, if the issue persists, scroll down and complete the 7 steps listed under, "Need help?" at the bottom of the article.

I found exactly the same problem too, and for me too it very nearly caused an incident. I contacted Apple and carried out their instructions, i.e. factory reset the phone, but a new Apple cable for the car, remove car from phone and vice versa, it still didn’t work. Spoke to a ‘senior manager’ today, apparently nothing can be done. I bought a £33000 EV 3 months ago, and my phone cannot connect to it. My contract with my iPhone ends in 4 months, I will be going to Samsung. I’ve commented on this issue on various EV forums to let other EV owners aware concerning the iPhone connectivity problems with the Kia EV , and suggested they steer clear of iphones.Appalled with Apple.
