recently I am getting messages that my iPhone 12 mini has been infected with two viruses and that I need to go to the App Store and download an antivirus app. Is this legit?

What is the origin of these "messages"?
Is there a link to the App Store within these "messages"?

No, it is not legit. All such messages are scams from criminals.
Where are you seeing these messages? Web browser! Calendar?
Receiving messages in email thru xfinity. Thank you for your reply.
Thank you for your quick reply. The messages show up at times when I open up an email through Xfinity. I will not download any antiviral app from the App Store at this time.
