how do i use my iphone when connected to carplay?
When I attempt phone call while in carplay, voice tells me no phone connected but phone is linked to carplay

Just double checking here, are you tapping on the CarPlay screen (Phone icon) to get the phone call dialed? You may be using the bluetooth phone connection in your car instead of using CarPlay.
Make sure that you are using the CarPlay screen to navigate between menus and begin a phone call.
