Midi Audio Cutting Out In Logic Pro X

Howdy all,

I just got a new macbook pro M1 and am encountering a nasty bug within Logic Pro.

The audio for midi tracks randomly drops to nearly zero. That includes from a keyboard and anything I've already programmed. It appears that the the impulses are still recognized, but it's at a volume that is basically useless. The velocities haven't changed, and increasing them further does nothing. It will sporadically increase in volume at times, and then drop back down to nearly inaudible. It happens whether I have 50 tracks or 1. The cpu isn't getting overloaded.

The only solutions I've found have been temporary, at best. Either I:

Make new tracks, which will sometimes work, but only temporarily.
Restart the project, which also seems to result in temporary functionality.

What on earth is going on? My suspicion is that it has to do with a bug in the new processor, as I haven't found much else to refer to online.

Depending on the instruments in question, it's possible that MIDI Volume CC7 has been recorded on tracks. If that's the problem you will see CC7 commands in the List editor. Some instruments come preprogrammed to use the keyboards Mod wheel for volume control.

Try an experiment, make sure all Advanced Tools are enabled in Logic's Preferences!

Go to the upper Left Logic Pro menu to Control Surfaces, you should have entries that allow bypassing control surfaces or Rebuilding Control Surface preferences. Try thouse and see if it corrects your problem, Logic has a bad habit of assigning incorrect contol surfaces.
