Previous shutdown code -20?

Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well :)

So... here's the thing. I have been waking up to my mac being shut down despite being connected and the lid just closed. Upon pulling the shutdown cause, I've gotten -20, but I haven't been able to find what it is.

There was a similar thread about the same code a while ago here in the communities, but I couldn't find the -20 here. Should I be worried?

Thanks in advance and stay safe!

Hi MoonJ

Thanks for your answer! I already went through that, and were able to find that the code -20 is being registered by the SMC. What I really need to know is what that specific code means, otherwise I have no way of knowing the origin of the problem.

This issue has been only on BigSur, although through several versions. It's happened with and without peripherals connected, and the weird thing is that I cannot report the issue because the computer boots, opens all the windows that were open before the shutdown (although Safari logged out from accounts for example), and works as if nothing happened.

Any idea what the -20 could be?

Thanks again for your response!

Best,

Fln
