Hi, Ive erased the hard drive but can’t install MacOS Sierra. It says the drives are locked. In disk utility most of the icons are greyed out. See pictures. Thanks
Are you using Firmware Password to lock the drive ? If Yes, have to unlock with password before moving on.
What is on your passport. Is it a bootable system, or a Time Machine backup?
Have you tried internet recovery, which is command-option-shift-R?
Keep in mind, APFS formatting is not supported by Sierra or earlier.
Hi, I have a time machine backup. I will try the internet recovery. The main issue I have is that it won't reload as the disk is locked.
