I have installed all updates to my apple tv, but still do not see the app store. Where do I find the app store? I have an app I would like to download
If you have a 3rd gen then it does not have access to an app store nor does the hardware support such. All content is preset and sent via server. You would need an Apple TV HD (4th gen) or 4K (5th gen) to have that capability.
