My watch app doesn’t recognise wifi
I’m unable to install the watch update as it says that I’m not connected to wifi network but I am.

that's what it means. your iPhone has to be connected to wifi, the watch app is linked via iPhone.
also, make sure you're close to the iPhone and have the watch connected to the charger.
