How can I find or track a stolen iPhone which has the offline status on find my iPhone?

The iPhone will be offline until and unless it comes back online. Which may never happen.

My iPhone was stolen this evening and is currently offline when I try to find it with find my iPhone. How can I trace the location of the phone.
