What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support
Apple advises to bridge both bands and use the same SSID network name for both bands, to let the devices choose which band to connect to, as they deem best. Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support
Either one can be plenty good for Apple TV. 5 GHz isn’t necessarily better than 2.4 GHz, e.g. 5 GHz will have a shorter range. Choosing the right channel within each band (on your router) will have a huge impact, as neighboring networks might interfere, and you will want to optimize by using the least used channels. Depending on router, this could be done automatically on startup, but often not continually adjusted for changes.
