Beats Solo 3 Headphones sound muffled or far away?

Recently the sound in my beats solo3 wireless headphones randomly becomes muffled or the audio sounds far away.

I am not sure what the problem is as it happens sporadically and, when it does, its only ever when its connected to my Mac book pro. When this happens I make sure to check how it's working with my other devices and its perfectly fine. Then, after a few days to a few weeks, it goes back to normal and works fine with my Mac.

I have reset the headphones, made sure the software on my devices are up to date and fully charged, made the bluetooth forget the headphones and still nothing changes.

I'm quite confused and any help would be greatly appreciated.
