I have a 4th Grade student who has figured out that by pressing the home and power button together will get him out of Guided Access to access other apps. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? How do you keep students from getting out of Guided Access? I have tried different iPads Gen 6-8, with different IOS versions)

Presumably you have set a Guided Access passcode.

You should be using Single App Mode instead of Guided Access. Restarting the iPad will not take it out of this mode.
