Bluetooth pairing Apple wireless keyboard model A1314 to MacOS Big Sur

Posting a question & solution all in one:

Simply hold down the power button on the A1314 keyboard until the green light blinks. If you don't see that right away, release & try again. Once the green light is blinking, continue holding down the power button until you see a prompt on the MacOS screen asking you to type 6 numbers & press return on the keyboard. Do that & your keyboard will then be paired. Enjoy!

Ventura Bluetooth issues. Why is Apple dragging its feet when addressing the Bluetooth issues created with the Ventura OS 13.0 update? It is impossible to connect my keyboard to my Macbook Pro since the update and all of my mice have a terrible lag as if the buffers get full and then empty out. I can never tell where the pointer will be at any given time because it seldom follows my mouse. The keyboard and mice work fine on all other Bluetooth enabled devices, but NOT on the one device I have with Ventura. (And, yes, I have done all the troubleshooting. Nothing makes it work properly for more than a few minutes.) It is sloppy and anti-user to let this bug continue! I left PC's to get away from this kind of shoddy workmanship!
