I had the exact issue and I was able to fix it by starting the app then very quickly going to Settings before the app crashed. I logged out and logged back in again.
Voila, it worked.

Please check with the Facebook Watch developers, you will find how to get assistance on their app. Your Apple TV is simply the device it runs on, if there is only a problem with that app that would indicate you need to speak to the apps developers.
It worked for me, but I did have to “Reset” the entire AppleTV for it to work. The apps downloaded again after the Rest, wasn’t a hassle.
With another FB account is no problem with this application. Only with my account!!!
I tried it so many times but the effect is same - only my account has a problem.
I wrote to the FB Developers but no answer yet.
I am having the same problem. Whenever I go into my Apple TV and click on the FaceBook Watch app it crashes and doesn’t give me any error message as to what the problem is.
So what I did to get FaceBook onto my smart tv was instead of using Apple TV, I went to the “Smart Hub” feature on my Samsung tv and went to its “apps” option. I downloaded FaceBook from there and I was successful.
It’s a bummer that the FaceBook Watch app isn’t working from the Apple TV section, because having all the apps in one location made things super easy. But until FaceBook can fix this problem, at least I have FaceBook accessible on my smart TVs.
I hope this helps
The exact same problem happened to me during the last week. It only happens using my Apple TV. I deleted the app and reinstalled it twice and the same problem. Crashes seconds after you log in. Not sure how to contact FB developers but it seems many people have already so I am hoping they will send it a fix real soon.
I tried to go to Facebook someone provided a link to report it and it’s a dead in when you hit submit. Page cannot be found. If you ask me it’s an Apple problem because apparently there was an update and the update cost Facebook watch to crash
I have the same issue on my Apple TV.
Here is the Facebook site to report the issue - fb.me/fbtvhelp
Please take a second and report the issue to FB so they can address the app issue.
I am having the same issue since three days ago, and I have been trying to solve it with no success. As you are saying, when I tried with a different account, it worked, but it crashes with mine. It is sooooooo frustrating!
I too ran into the same problem as you described with the "Facebook Watch" app on my Apple TV device. At about exactly the same time frame as you (and others have reported), this app stopped working on my Apple TV. It opens but before it can update the my content (followed pages, etc.), it simply aborts (showing no error message or hint about what's wrong).
Curiously, I also have an Amazon Fire TV device, the "Facebook Watch" app on it runs perfectly.
How do you contact the Facebook Watch app's developers at Facebook to notify them of that their app is aborting on Apple TV devices? The "Feedback" link (URL) listed in the Facebook Watch app's settings also FAILED after I had my entire problem report typed-in. It simply said the webpage no longer existed!
Tony
It is clear no one outside of us users/consumers are caring about this issue. No one at Facebook can be contacted, and Apple isn’t responding beyond the classic, “go ask Facebook”.
I do hope this error is resolved soon, it is an app I do appreciate a lot on AppleTV.
Really glad that worked for you unfortunately it did not work for me neither did uninstalling and reinstalling it twice, logging out of it multiple times and logging back in. Oh well it’s nice to have Facebook watch for a while maybe time to switch
I started having the same exact problem around the same time.
I’m having the same problem
I asked, wrote to FB so many times at last week, but till no answer...
