Pedometer on Apple Watch

I just got a new iPhone 12 and a series 6 Watch. On my old watch paired with my XS Max I was able to use the Pedometer ++ app and display my steps on my watch face. Since upgrading phone and watch today I can not get the steps to display. Any advice? I have downloaded the Pedometer ++ app it’s just not showing as a display option on my watch.

On your phone, open the Watch app, scroll down until you see the "Available Apps" section and tap install for the Pedometer++ app. Then, still on the Watch app, tap the watch face you are using and, in Complications, select a location where you want your steps to display and then select Pedometer++.
