Why won't my 1T hard drive (verbatim) connect to my MacBook Air?

Try this hard disk drive on another computer. See if it works there.


Try a different USB cable. Try the current USB cable on a different computer.


If that hard disk drive is bus-powered and not wall-powered, try connecting via a powered USB hub.


See if Disk Utility detects the presence of the hard disk drive device.
