Spontaneous cracking iPad Pro around home button

Before going to bed, I checked my last email and started counting sheep. I woke up next morning to find my iPad Pro 2019 and cracked around the home button. It wasn’t plugged in at the time, and in the exact position I left at the night prior. Now I only have one of the person in the house, no ghosts, and no demons that I know of. I don’t know how it happened, but I know what happened, and I know it was a defect in my iPad. I had an iPhone 7 with a battery issue so I know how this works. Anybody else having this issue? I called support, basically told me to go to the store. Made an appointment, and went to the Genius Bar. No luck. They said they would send the information into engineering. Any suggestions on how I should pursue it?

I understand, but this is sort of the same thing I was told with my 7+ battery. Until enough people raise it as a concern, there won’t be much done. I’m going to keep running it up the pole. The screen shouldn’t crack with absolutely no impact. It’s an issue, I guess it will depend on how many other people have the issue, and report it. I appreciate the input. I’ve been an Apple fan since my G5, and 3S phone. I still believe they will do the right thing.
