If your iPad is a WiFi ONLY, then there is no tray insert/opening for a cellular data SIM card.

If your iPad is both a WiFi AND cellular data model, then it will have a SIM card tray insert found on one of the long sides of the iPad for putting in a cellular service data SIM card.
